About Me
Nicole Abarca Powell (she/her) is a Southern California bred, NYC living singer/actress/dancer/historical dramaturg.
Nicole graduated from Gettysburg College with a major in Theatre Arts. She had minors in Music (through their Sunderman Conservatory of Music) and Civil War Era Studies (she graduated with honors in the Top 3 of her class). She also spent a semester at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center as part of their National Music Theatre Institute.
Nicole enjoys working on new plays and musicals. She recently played Olivia in Big Ass Secret (Sound Bites Festival), Mystica in Unmarried Man (The PIT), and Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice: The Musical (SheNYC Arts Festival).
Favorite regional credits include: In the Heights (Carla), Next to Normal (Natalie, Inland Theatre League Award), Urinetown (Little Sally), Hairspray (Tracy Turnblad, StageScene LA Scenie for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role), and Proof (Catherine, Top Performance Honor of the Year- Los Angeles Times).
Besides performing, Nicole likes to keep all of her friends informed on the latest reality tv show drama, and visit her family dog Maple.
